The two kilns I have I picked up at about 1/2 price at the local glass shop's semi-annual "garage" and "dent and scratch" sales. The little kiln looked like it'd never been used and worked perfectly. The larger one had never been used, but the control box on the front had been hit by something and dented, and it didn't work. It took me about 20 minutes to fix it. You've probably got something in Toronto that does similar sales.
