Normally it is Caitlin blogging about her pretty new boots but today it is me. There is cause for excitement, as these are in fact my first winter boots in a great many years. Perhaps in fifteen or twenty years, believe it or not! I got a pair of Smith and Wesson Defender police duty boots. They’re super warm, comfortable, waterproof, and fairly inexpensive, so no more wet winter days because all I have to wear are my old Converse sneakers!

Caitlin is currently making fun of me for blogging about footwear.
Too bad! Let me have my time of pleasure!

TIME OF PLEASURE!!?!
Oh jeez, so funny. These will look hot worn with my black bomber jacket. :)
Like, omigod, shooz!
Chris would be having a pleasure party with those as well, I am certain. Hrm, his B’day *is* coming up…
(quick return from site)FAIRLY inexpensive? Buddy, you have a skewed idea of fairly inexpensive! Geez. Half that would be fairly inexpensive. In my mental pocketbook those are fairly expensive.
Men. :P
I like them!
Elizabeth, I too took a peek at the site and really when you think about it its really not that bad in terms of cost. Winters here in Montreal (even though I did live in ON) are brutal and if you buy say $40.00 boots every year (like I do because they don’t last) and these ones last a few winters the end would totally justify the means and generally speaking police/military footwear is constructed better therefore longer lasting.
My doc’s cost twice as that and they’re not winter friendly at all. But I’ve had them for 5 years so they’ve only cost me 50/a year so far.
I’m spared the longer winter weather here but I wouldn’t mind having a pair of those either. My current boots for everyday wear are 5 years old and still kickin.
nice.
ive been wearing Vietnam era combat boots for over 20years. i was lucky to find a 2nd pair after the first died (10years, RIP).
man, i love these things. not sure if ill find another pair. it may be time to get “normal boots”.
Steph, I used to do calculations like that on shirts and stuff I own: if it cost $30 when I bought it and then I wear it about 2 times a month, plus washing, that works out to…$1? It’s a great way to justify anything!
footwear is essential… while on fashion btw love the beard Shannon,… that thing is taking on a life of its own, looks great on you man. Love,B
Caitlin, HELL YES! ha ha, I totally agree! OK somethings I won’t spend a ton of money on but after thinking about all the money I’ve personally spent on winter boots for these brutal Montreal winters, I said screw it and bought myself a better pair that will *hopefully* last more then one winter :)
